**Chapter 184: This is Father Wang**

Everyone present, except for the young child Suisui, was perceptive enough to notice that Concubine Ren was being sarcastic.

Upon hearing Concubine Ren's words, Concubine Che became displeased and tugged on Prince Qi's sleeve, her voice growing softer, “Wang Ye~”

Prince Qi had been focused on Suisui and wasn't ready to deal with other matters. However, the  concubine’s tugging forced him to stand up.

After standing, Prince Qi glanced at Concubine Ren. She had only stood up to pay her respects when Qi Wangfei entered; otherwise, she sat leisurely sipping tea.

At this moment, when Prince Qi looked over, Concubine Ren didn't even lift her head.

He thought for a moment, recalling whether he had ever taken advantage of this side concubine in the past.

The answer was no!

After considering this, he turned his gaze back to Qi Wangfei.

Her focus remained on Suisui, and upon sensing his gaze, she looked up at him in confusion.

Prince Qi: …

Alright, Qi Wangfei hadn't noticed anything wrong at all.

In the end, he could only turn back and frown slightly at Concubine Che, “Can’t you be quiet for a moment?”

The  servant felt wronged upon hearing this. She wanted to say a few more words, but Prince Qi had already shifted his attention back to Suisui.

At this moment, Qi Wangfei hadn’t taken her seat yet. Suisui stood beside her, one hand gently hugging her mother, her round eyes filled with curiosity as she looked at the rotund uncle before her.

Prince Qi, though slightly plump with age, didn’t appear exaggeratedly so, but his belly had a noticeable curve.

He squatted down, adjusting his position slightly before breaking into a kind smile.

His smile was so wide that his round eyes squinted into crescent shapes, “Don’t be afraid, tell Uncle, how old are you?”

Suisui didn’t understand why her mother said this was Father Wang, but Father Wang referred to himself as an uncle.

She anxiously glanced up at her mother.

Qi Wangfei gently patted her little hat and softly said, “Suisui, you can speak freely, Father Wang is listening.”

After hearing this, Suisui obediently introduced herself, “I am Suisui, five years old.”

After her introduction, she felt it might seem impolite, so she quickly added, “Father Wang is well.”

She even performed a curtsy, a somewhat awkward but respectful bow.

Prince Qi didn’t mind her manners; he merely found the little girl pleasing to the eye.

Although he didn’t fully understand the situation, since Qi Wangfei liked her, he accepted her as well.

With nothing else in his hands, he casually took the jade pendant from his waist and handed it to Suisui, “This is a gift from Father Wang to you.”

As he spoke, he raised his hand to pat Suisui’s little hat.

Seeing the large hand reaching toward her, Suisui instinctively thought Father Wang wanted to hit her, so she took a step back and hid behind her mother.

Prince Qi: ?

His hand hovered in the air, holding the jade pendant, making him look awkward and silly.

Not wanting to embarrass Prince Qi, Qi Wangfei gently pulled Suisui out and said softly, “Father Wang only wants to touch Suisui's little hat. Don’t be afraid.”

As she spoke, Qi Wangfei reached out to take the jade pendant, temporarily placing it in Suisui's hand.

When Suisui heard that he only wanted to touch her head, she mustered her courage, hesitated for a moment, then leaned forward, saying, “Father Wang, you can touch it.”

Originally, Prince Qi had intended to pat her hat out of habit.

Now, seeing the small head offered to him, topped with a bright-colored little hat, his hand moved faster than his mind, reaching out to touch it.

Touching the hat didn’t yield much, but he could feel the fabric was of good quality.

More importantly, it allowed him to observe the child up close.

Upon seeing Suisui for the first time, Prince Qi immediately noticed something was off with her hair.

However, not wanting to make her feel sad about it, he refrained from asking right away.

At that moment, as he got closer to Suisui, he noticed a very distinct scar on the back of her neck.

That scar appeared to be an old one.

How could such a young child have an old scar?

Who would be so cruel?

Prince Qi speculated that this likely had something to do with Suisui’s past or her background.

However, it was inappropriate to ask too many questions with the child present.

Seeing that Prince Qi had given his jade pendant to Suisui, Concubine Che's face fell.

Feeling a sense of crisis, she gently rubbed her flat abdomen and said softly, “Wang Ye, I’m feeling a bit unwell. Shall we head back?”

Hearing her mention feeling unwell, Prince Qi furrowed his brows slightly and replied, “Princess has a good temperament and won’t mind your rudeness. Your legs are yours; if you want to leave, just say so.”

Thinking about her discomfort, Prince Qi quickly added, “If you’re unwell, remember to call the physician.”

servant: ???

That response wasn’t what she expected!

Wasn’t she supposed to be the favored one in the Wang Fu?

The servant was left embarrassed in front of everyone, while Concubine Ren couldn’t help but laugh.

This made Concubine Che feel both humiliated and furious. She clenched her teeth and, with a crafty glint in her eyes, proposed, “Wang Ye, I see this child is quite pitiful. Since our Wang Fu doesn’t have any daughters at the moment, why not let my niece Lingzhi come over to keep her company? It would be good to have a companion.”

When Concubine Che first entered the manor, she had invited her six-year-old niece, Che Lingzhi, to stay for a while.

That child was young but quite clever, and Concubine Ren had found her tiresome, which led to her being sent back after a few remarks to Prince Qi.

Now, seeing Suisui, Concubine Che’s intentions were clear; she wanted to bring her niece back for the sake of the Wang Fu’s wealth.

When Che Lingzhi visited, she would sweet-talk Prince Qi, praising this and that.

After her flattery, she would feign sadness, and although Prince Qi might not fall for it every time, once or twice, he would be soft-hearted and reward her with something.

Those who knew it was the concubine’s niece would understand, while those who didn’t would think it was a poor relative seeking assistance, and some would believe it.

After the Concubine Che finished speaking, Prince Qi fell into thought, clearly considering the feasibility of her suggestion.

Observing this, Qi Wangfei slightly furrowed her brows.
