Chapter 1168: Full-level Boss Dressed As a Peasant Girl
Chapter 1168: Leaving the capital
The daily arguments at Aunt Hong's house continued as usual, but unlike before, Aunt Hong now had some confidence and did not compromise.
After bidding farewell to Aunt Hong, Shu Yu returned to the small courtyard in the south of the capital with Gouwa. Old doctor Zhao and Zhao Xi had already brought the carriages to the entrance of the alley, waiting for them. When they returned, old doctor Zhao waved his hand, "Let's go, we should set off."
There were two carriages, and Shu Yu and Ying Xi sat in their own carriage, while Zhao Xi drove the other carriage, accompanied by old doctor Zhao, heading towards the outskirts of the city.
It was Gouwa's first time riding in a carriage, and he felt a bit scared as the carriage swayed.
Fortunately, the carriage was padded with soft cushions, and Shu Yu let him lie down and sleep on them.
The swaying of the carriage gradually made him fall asleep.
Shu Yu smiled and the group quickly arrived at the capital gate, forming a queue to leave the city.
At the foot of the mountain, Meng Yunzheng and Meng Pei happened to come over.
Meng Pei held an urn of ashes wrapped in layers of cloth.
His eyes turned red again, and he solemnly got into Zhao Xi's carriage.
Old doctor Zhao moved a box and opened it. The box was specially made with shockproof materials and filled with cotton to secure everything tightly.
"Put it in here."
Old doctor Zhao looked at Meng Pei, but he shook his head, his voice hoarse as he said, "No need, let me hold her a little longer."
He lowered his head and looked at the urn, not willing to let go. "It's been so many years, it's rare to hold her again."
Old doctor Zhao didn't say anything and covered the box again, pushing it back before asking Zhao Xi to set off.
The two carriages drove towards the pier, one after the other.
This time they had plenty of time, so Meng Yunzheng had reserved several rooms in advance, so they wouldn't have to worry about staying in the lower cabins again.
They stayed in rooms on the third floor, the best ones available.
Gouwa had woken up and looked at the large ship in front of him, his eyes showing a strange look of shock.
He had never seen something like this before, such a big and powerful thing.
Shu Yu took the opportunity to talk to him more, seeing him look at the ship curiously, she explained, "This is a ship, and we'll be taking this ship soon. The ship travels on water. If you're curious, we can watch it once it starts sailing."
As she spoke, she and Ying Xi boarded the ship with Meng Yunzheng and old doctor Zhao, while the horses and carriages were taken care of by Meng Pei and Zhao Xi.
The room on the third floor was quiet and clean, and the ship was even larger than the one they had taken when they arrived.
They arrived not too early or too late, and most of the passengers were already on board.
After about twenty minutes, the ship moved, slowly.
The view from the third floor was quite broad, and Shu Yu and the others could see the scenery along the riverbank without going to the lower deck.
She found a room by the edge and opened the window, sitting there with Gouwa in her arms, pointing outside, "Look, the ship is moving forward. Isn't it amazing?"
It was indeed amazing.
Gouwa widened his eyes, watching the scenery in front of him retreat one by one.
He had always stayed at Aunt Hong's house and could only see that one-acre-three-point-land. He had no idea that there could be so many trees, that people could stay on the water without falling off, or that he could stand so high up.
Shu Yu raised her eyebrows, sensing the excitement in the child's emotions.
He still didn't speak, but his expressions were becoming more and more expressive.
