Chapter 1161: Full-level Boss Dressed As a Peasant Girl
Chapter 1161: Clever Little Gouwa
Shu Yu exchanged a glance with Ying Xi and the latter immediately followed the woman outside, learning the address of the Hong family.
The remaining people in the room looked at each other. Shu Yu said to them, "Let's discuss things first, and I'll take the child to wash up and have something to eat."
Having taken care of her younger siblings and even Fourth Aunt's one-year-old son before, she had some experience in handling children.
Shu Yu squatted down and spoke softly to the child, "Are you called Gouwa? Shall we get to know each other? From now on, you can call me Aunt Lu, alright?"
Gouwa didn't respond, and Shu Yu didn't expect him to answer. She just gently touched the hand without the beads. Seeing that he didn't reject her, she lightly held it and smiled, "Shall I take you to the room to rest?"
She stood up, leading Gouwa inside.
The child obediently followed her without looking outside. He quietly lowered his head while Shu Yu led him by the hand.
Shu Yu lowered her gaze, looking at his small head.
It seemed that Aunt Hong was right. Although Gouwa didn't speak, he was well-behaved and understood what you were saying.
After bringing the child to the room, Shu Yu fetched a basin of warm water and a soft cloth. Sitting in front of him, she smiled and said, "Let me wash your face and clean your hands, okay?"
Gouwa didn't speak, so Shu Yu gently helped him clean his face and hands.
His right hand still held the wooden beads. Shu Yu thought for a moment and said to him, "Gouwa, can you switch the beads to your left hand for a while and change back later?"
Gouwa remained silent for a long time, but Shu Yu was patient and waited for him with a smile.
Finally, the child released his small hand and switched the beads to his left hand.
Shu Yu praised herself and wiped his right hand.
After finishing, Meng Yunzheng happened to come in with a bowl of noodle dumplings.
"The other things take a while to cook, so I made noodle dumplings in the kitchen," he explained.
Shu Yu took the bowl from him. It was a small bowl with only a few noodle dumplings, enough for a quick meal.
Using a small spoon, Shu Yu scooped some noodle dumplings, blew them cool, and fed them to Gouwa.
The child looked dazed and then glanced at Shu Yu.
Although he seemed normal, his stomach made a gurgling sound.
Shu Yu chuckled, "See, your little belly is telling you that you need to eat."
The child's face showed an unusual expression, and he lowered his head, looking at his stomach.
So, when his stomach made noises, it meant he was hungry? He had never known that before.
Well, he could eat now.
Gouwa opened his mouth and took a bite of the noodle dumplings.
Then, after a moment of hesitation, he opened his mouth again, this time much faster.
Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng exchanged a glance. Looking at the child's thin and weak appearance, they could guess what kind of life he had led before.
His diet probably wasn't very good.
Although the bowl of noodle dumplings brought in by Meng Yunzheng wasn't much, it was made from fine white flour, much softer than the coarse flour that irritated the throat. It was most suitable for children to eat.
There was also half a boiled egg at the bottom of the bowl. After finishing the noodles on top, Gouwa obediently ate the egg as well.
After eating, he burped softly.
Shu Yu wiped his mouth and smiled, "It looks like you're full. Let's rest for a while and go to bed early, okay?"
Gouwa still didn't react, just staring at Shu Yu.
